Emma was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She began training in theater, dance, and debauchery from a young age and was always the first kid to make a joke, or say the weird thing out loud. This translated to some excellent one liners, but also to the expulsion from two separate preschools before the age of five.

ABOUT

It was wholly unsurprising when Emma announced in her fifth grade yearbook that she wanted to be an actress. From youth to adulthood, Emma was laser focused on making her dreams as a performer become a reality. Emma acted throughout her teens taking on roles such as Viola in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Titania in Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Alice in Flowers for Algernon. She also delved into the world of musicals such as Footloose, Chicago, and The Addams Family.

She would audition for 31 drama schools before deciding on The Hartt School. At University, Emma would take on theatrical roles such as Judy in Curious Incident of Dog in The Nighttime, Helena in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Bernadette in Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, and a leading film role as Lydia in Big Love. She spent a semester abroad studying Shakespeare at Drama Studio London. She became a part of the elite collegiate improv group Stop Laughing Mom, and wrote her own sketch comedy show Two Pretty Best Friends before graduation. Upon completing the sketch show, Emma knew she had found her calling. Emma graduated Summa Cum Laude with her BFA in acting, and moved to New York City the following week.

Upon moving to NYC, Emma would respond to a backstage listing for a Live Sketch Comedy show, I Mostly Blame Myself. After an interview, she agreed to go to some guy’s basement in Williamsburg to “read through some sketches”. Thankfully this dude was Nick Shanman, and not the next Ted Bundy. Nick introduced Emma to what would become the internationally recognized sketch team of IMBM. With Emma added to the team they performed their first live shows in New York City. After six months of sold out runs in the off-off Broadway theater, I Mostly Blame Myself moved to Off-Broadway. In early 2023, Emma would begin writing sketches for the group in addition to performing. The group began performing sold out shows, and posting their original sketches onto YouTube. The I Mostly Blame Myself YouTube channel has since amassed over 800,000 subscribers. The sketch team would be invited to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August of 2024, where they would complete a highly reviewed run of 9 of their top sketches. Emma is thrilled to be living out her dreams as a writer and cast member of a sensational sketch group.

When she is not writing or performing she spends copious amounts of time playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and the Sims. She is also a legend ranked Hearthstone player and Dungeons and Dragons Connoisseur. Emma is a huge fan of live music, with an extensive bucket list of music festivals and raves to attend. Emma lives in Harlem with her husband, Nick, and her French Bulldog, Bumbus.
